FourCats Press is interested in literature in translation (primarily from Italian to English), LGBTQ and working-class literary fiction, and nonfiction in the areas of LGBTQ and working-class studies, and popular science (with an emphasis on paleontology). We do not publish poetry, erotica, genre, or “speculative” fiction.
Using POD and traditional technologies, we publish “old-fashioned” books — the kind whose corners you can turn down and whose margins you can write in—for discerning readers. We provide our authors with book and cover design as well as expert editing and proofreading, and we offer profit-sharing contracts net of our out-of-pocket costs.
If you have a manuscript you think may be right for FourCats Press, please query first (via email to Editor@FourCatsPress.com) with a sample chapter or story and a properly formatted book proposal describing your project. (If you’re not sure what a “properly formatted book proposal is,” please do your homework before submitting.)
We do our best to respond within 30 days of receiving your inquiry. If you haven’t followed our guidelines, on the other hand, rejection is generally instantaneous.
